Once again the USC Kapamilya Negosyo Na, Inc. (USC-KNN) will be conducting a free Business Plan Seminar on July 20, 2019, Saturday at 8:00AM to 5:00PM in University of San Carlos Main Campus. Room will be announced later. Participants of this seminar may join the USC-KNN Business Plan Making Contest, wherein the winners of the contest will receive seed capital to start his/her proposed business and be part of the growing USC KNN Multipurpose Cooperative

USC Kapamilya Negosyo Na, Inc. started as flagship entrepreneurial program of the University of San Carlos College of Commerce Alumni Association in partnership with ABS-CBN Central Visayas’ radio station dyAB and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). USC-KNN aims to encourage individuals to engage in business. This is being achieved by literally walking them through the aspects of putting up a business. It begins with a seminar on the preparation of a business plan and continues with the on–air discussions of the basic knowledge necessary for one to be an entrepreneur.

Currently, this will be the 14th season of the program and already produced several successful entrepreneurs and extended its partnership with other agencies including the USC School of Business and Economics and the Department of Science and Technology

One of the most recognized KNN Winner is K’Hanz Cakes and Pastries by Jessieryl Pitogo of Barangay Calawisan, Lapu-Lapu City who was the DOLE-7’s contender to the 2018 Best DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Projects National Competition and successfully was adjudged as the national winner in the same year under the Individual Category.

Another one is Mrs. Jerry Gloria, owner of Mabolo Bam-i House. She was once working with an insurance company and had been selling fashion accessories but now a successful in her food-related business. Aside from her bam-i, she also have fresh lumpia, empanada, chicken lollipop and pastries. Gloria is also planning to expand her production area located at the first floor of the family’s three-story building. Mabolo Bam-i House has been given recognition as a recipient of the Q Asia’s National Product Quality Excellence Award.

Of course our very own online grocery store was one of the KNN Season 4 winners in 2009. We received our seed capital of Php15,000; just enough to set-up our website and some amount for initial inventory. Our first customers heard about our business through dyAB. Doing business online requires trust and confidence from customers and we are always grateful to KNN for the helping us kickstart our online store. We also made it to the finals of the Business In Development (BID) Challenge that was held in Pasay City in 2011.
